D.F. Amethyst is a science fiction author from Stockport, UK, whose passion for storytelling began at a young age. Growing up autistic and living with borderline personality disorder, they often struggled to connect with the world around them. Writing became an escape—a way to explore emotions, relationships, and the complexities of human nature in ways real life didn’t always allow. Over time, the fictional worlds they created helped them better understand reality, offering new perspectives on hope, survival, and the importance of connection.

Inspired by Jeff Wayne’s musical retelling of H.G. Wells’ The War of the Worlds, Star Trek, Star Wars, and the horror fiction of James Herbert, D.F. Amethyst crafts gripping, character-driven narratives that explore themes of war, loss, resilience, and redemption. Their debut series, Harbingers of the Void, is a dark and thought-provoking sci-fi saga that not only delivers thrilling adventures but also tackles real-world issues such as PTSD, prejudice, and mental health.

When not crafting the next instalment of Harbingers of the Void, D.F. Amethyst cherishes time with their family, especially their nieces and nephews. Their goal is to use storytelling to inspire hope—because even in the darkest of times, there is always a way forward.
